Q. Is this an online only program,
A. NoL The first course which is Creation Therapy is mailed to you. It is available in textbook or Compact disc. format.
Q. Where are classes held?
A. Our office is located in Scottdale GA. Georgia
residents are able to come in for supervision only. Not for a classroom
session. California Residents are able to meet with an instructor for
supervision.
Q. When do classes start? A. Anytime for online and home study students.
Q. How long does the training last?
A. You study at your own pace. However, Phase one should not exceed six months. Phase two should not exceed eight months
Q. Are there other payment plans?
A. When we talk with you and get an understanding of
your financial ability to take the training, at that time we will be be
able to make other arrangements. We always do our best to make sure
that our students are comfortable and are able to enjoy as much
flexibility as possible. I hope this helps.
Q. Do I need any other state license to practice as a Christian Counselor after receiving my credentials?
A. No. If you are a Christian counselor you are an agent of the church. no additional license is needed. You can begin counseling the moment you graduate. However you must register your business name with the secretary of State. Depending on your location, you may need to register in the county and obtain a business certificate for tax purposes.
Q. Do I need to join or contribute to a church to keep my certification active?
A. As a non-denominational certification, you do NOT have to "join" a church, leave your own church, or contribute in any way beyond what you are now doing. However, you must stay current by submitting twelve CEU , each year and pay your annual renewal.
Q. Can I be licensed as a Christian (Faith-based) counselor without having a B.A. degree?
A. No, you can only be certified. However, we can help you qualify for your B.A., M.A. and/or your Ph.D. through one of the several colleges that have partnered with the N.C.C.A.
Q. Can I accept remuneration for counseling?
A. If you are an ordained, licensed or commissioned minister, you probably can accept remuneration for counseling since most states exempt clergy from having to be state licensed. However, you need to check your state’s statutes. The N.C.C.A.’s license is national, not state and, like ordination, it is a “Sacred” office.
